Join us for the Spring Season 2023!

We are a small group of "players" who create the content we deliver We will select participants based on the quality of applications and the need to have a range of ages between fifth and eighth graders (or 11-14 year-olds) for the main teams. We are also serving high schoolers now in a small, specialized group.

SPRING: This winter, we will select a small group of players to write our Spring Season program. We will write devised works in a similar way to a television “writer’s room.” One player will be the “showrunner” and write the first scene and the others will follow their style. Instructors will support them through this process, offering feedback, notes, and lessons about story and stagecraft. Writing sessions will happen once a week because the players will have work to do outside the scheduled instructional time. Players might be reading to offer feedback, watching a related movie, listening to a podcast, having a coffee shop discussion, or writing scenes themselves. Additionally, we will have one high school writing group that will create a longer play in the same format.

SPRING/SUMMER: Sessions (rehearsals) will happen two times a week, for 1.5 hour intensive sessions . Times are to be determined. Additionally, if we need time outside of our sessions to work on players’ independent projects, that will be scheduled as needed.

We are ecstatic to again hold our sessions at Redeemer Presbyterian Church/Redeemer School at 1046 Miller Rd., Winston-Salem, NC, 27103.

Cost of the program will be $500 in full or $175/per month. If you think this program is just right for you, but can't afford it, please apply anyway! We will have scholarship money to support a few of our players this semester (and hopefully more and more in the future).
